About

Linda Hiebert

Manitoba Songstress

Linda wrote her first songs in the early 70’s strumming on a gifted thrifted guitar from her Uncle Tony.  The first chords and melodies could be heard on the front steps of the renovated one room schoolhouse one and a quarter mile West of Rosenfeld where she grew up.   In 1991, “Stay With Me” was released, featuring “Miss America” written in 1974.   Life rolled on and in 1998 “Yellow Sweater and Other Stories” was crafted.  2006 brought “One & A Quarter Mile West” to the table.  All these recordings carry a litany of life experiences including a haunting musical revision of Edgar Allen Poe’s “A Dream Within A Dream”. As a founder of the Back 40 Festival, she has mentored many musicians and continues to perform at a variety of venues.   The gift of meeting so many people along this road is her vision of success.   Always measured in storytelling, amazing conversation and memory.
